Escape Strategies

It is very much true that I have a withdraw limit of 100 dollars a day on my account more or less because of the reason mentioned in the comic. Bryan’s escape idea involves throwing his whole wallet away, which is foolish! Foolish I say!

Also I think its worth noting that I find a band called the Black Stripes who dress like Zebras to be one of the best things I’ve ever thought of. Ever.

Economy inflation impacts Beer too, ya know

Anyone that knows Bryan and I knows that neither of us are what you might call a “beer snob”, per se. However, $4 for a pint of Stella is a good deal pretty much anyway you slice it (we did the math). Seriously, I still can’t believe what a deal that is.

PS. We didn’t really do any math.

Voluntary Organ Donation

Ah ha, I seem to have fixed whatever Tumblr was doing to my posts - so the text can again sit next to the image. Not on top. Sadly, this is pretty exciting for me right now.

Anyway, as for the strip it was based off an idea that Bryan had. I don’t know anyone personally that even is an organ donor. I also don’t know anyone who’s woken up in pool of ice with kidney’s missing. I guess Bryan just has crazier friends than I. Congrats Bryan! Watch your back… literally!!

Just to clarify (and this is news to my co-creator), I am infact an actual organ donor.  However if you are keen on harvesting my organs Matt’s not the one to talk to, you gotta get ahold of our friend Tara.  She’s the one that co-signed my actual card.  Last I checked she’s literally a fugative Down Under so good luck tracking her down, but if you do: please enjoy all my freshly dead corpse has to offer!

Just Copy and Paste!

Some of you long time fans may have noticed a little bit of a ‘repeat’ of our final punchline in this year’s Hallowe’en strip…  Back in 2003 Matt and I were still publishing Gen Y at York University in their paper ‘Excalibur’ and often times we’d have jokes very specific to York life.  That Hallowe’en (one that pretty much all of us agree featured our greatest University Costumes) we wrote up this strip about the absolute nightmare it was trying to find a good bar to go to on campus after our usual pub ‘The Open End’ had closed its doors for good.

I always loved this comic and this punch line, but there was really no way to have anyone that didn’t go to York specifically during those years really get the appeal of it.  So given the chance to dust off the line about Remembrance Day being some sort of drinking Bonanza and drinking a ‘Poppy’ we jumped at it.

Here is the original strip in all it’s horribly drawn, coloured with markers and illegibal hand written glory! (Please note how far I’ve come!)

[Oh, and the best part about this strip?  We found out that the staff of Blueberry Hill not only read our strip (and posted it in their bar), but were so flattered that we’d mention them as the only sane choice for students they went ahead and invented a drink called “The Poppy” just for us.  If memory serves it was it was Gin and Cranberry Juice… not exactly our favorite mix, but a hilarious honour none the less!]

A most favourite holiday

Its one of the most wonderful times of the year! Halloween! Yeah! .. Is that enough enthusiasm Bryan? Some people don’t know this, but Halloween is one of Bryan’s favourite holidays. Even though we don’t even get a day off for it. I like Christmas better, there is at least a couple days off. And presents! And something about a baby … something.. yeah.. something that is escaping me at the moment. I’m it will come back to me.
